´´If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?´´(Psalm 11:3)
The importance attached to the issue of foundation
can never be under-estimated. Lending credence to it is the emphasis which the bible has apportioned to this all-important topic: foundation. As we all know,foundation is the supportive source of attachment between an object and its base. Taking a tree for example,the root which is burrowed deep into the soil is its foundation.
If we take the example of a tree to illustrate further,its health or lack of it depends on some factors;
1. The depth and stability of the root in the ground;
2. The source of nutrients that the root contacts to feed the trunk of the tree.
If the root of the tree is anchored to a polluted soil it feeds the tree unhealthy (polluted) food and the result cannot hide;it starts gradually by affecting the colour of the leaves. They start to be pale or yellowish even though the natural sign of a healthy tree is greenness of its leaves. Later the leaves certainly die. Why? Faulty foundation! Either the ground is too porous to provide the needed support for the weight of the tree or the tree is well supported but not fed with healthy food from under. Both ways, the ultimate result is death. This issue of foundation is so critical that the bible recognizes it.
As children of God,if we must resuscitate our yellowing and dying leaves and repair our lives,we must uproot ourselves from the previous faulty foundation and re-plant our foundation in the blood of Jesus. For us,humans,our ancestral/family root is our foundation. When our foundation starts to have a great influence on,and mostly dictates the patter of our life and living,especially negatively,it is called in deliverance parlance, ´´evil ancestral pattern´´.
Even as blessed as Abraham was in the bible,his lineage was not spared of this ancestral pattern! Abraham had to travel away from his fatherland before he could be established; so were most of his generations. He was economical with the truth ocassionally;so was Jacob. From Abraham till Joseph,their first sons never got the blessings or birthright of the first son from their fathers - Ishmael forfeited it to Isaac, Issau to Jacob,Reuben to Joseph and Ephraim to Manaseh! It is also note-worthy here to mention that the same way Abraham toiled to get his loved wife back from oppressors was the same way Jacob toilled hard in the hands of Laban to get the wife he love after double the number of years that was agreed upon. All these happened to these people because,Abraham had set the pace! He was the foundation from which they drew their nutrients - good and bad.
In our own cases,especially as Africans,most of our wicked ancestors -our foundations- were not as blessed as Abraham so they had mostly curses to bequeath to their generations. It is needless to mention that these evil patterns mostly emanate from total or partial disobedience to the commandments of God the Almighty. God has clearly told us in Psalm 1:1-3´´Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.´´ Anything outside of these(which most of our ancestors blattantly rejected in favour of their own vain interests) are only capable of producing,and has been renewing a vicious circle of curses as inheritance for their generations unborn.
Sometimes some of us see certain negative symptoms in our lives that suggest this ´´evil family patterns´´ but we are often apt to dismiss it with a careless wave-of-the-hand as ´´destiny´´! It is not destiny: it is a very stubborn negative spiritual occourence called ´´evil ancestral pattern or inheritance´´!
If somebody starts noticing that certain evil or sad things have always occoured to people in his family lineage in a particular repetitive pattern,it is the right time to do some useful family research because the bible says in Hosea 4:6 ´´My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children´´. Things don´t just happen like that. They happen with reasons and those happenings defy every logic of cure or correction except the blood of Jesus.
In some families.it could be that the females never marry until they have given birth outside wedlock. If you look most times,from the great-grand-mother to great-grand-daughter is the same: that is an evil pattern. Some people work very hard from generation to generation with nothing to show for it. Some never marry; if one particular person is stubborn enough to try to marry,he or she may die instantly or better still, have a fruitless marriage. Some families,people only marry when life is almost over and marriage is meaningless at 65 years of age! Some others have the problem of their women always infecting their husbands with dreadful poverty. Once they marry a man,he becomes poor! Some other families;their daughters marry,only that their husbands must not cross the age of 40 to 45 years. In such a family,it is common sight to see women who became widows when their husbands clicked age 45 - mother,aunt,sister..daughter the same thing! It couls still be failure at the edge of breakthrough. People from such a family could do anything. The only thing they are forbidden from doing is to register a breakthrough. It could be polygamy or bigamy. For no just reason people from certain families itch to have another partner anywhere they turn to,even of such a partner were a million times worse than their present one. There is just this inherited feeling that reminds them that they have forgotten to render themselves complete by surrounding themselves with a sea of ´´worthless´´ partners. They just have the insatiable urge to remarry or have secret affairs before becoming sobber after seing the damage done! In some families it could be bad temper. Their tempers are like an over-heated car radiator. It boils without control.. in some,it is sexual promiscuity; every desent sexual protocol is a taboo for them! I can list them on and on without getting close to exhausting them. Nevertheless,from the instances above,whatever case of evil ancestral inheritance anyone may have in his/her life will more easily come to light. Just take a close look at your family lineage and try to focus on anything you have notice in the family´s pattern of behaviour from generation to generation that is not normal. That is the evil pattern in that family. Their goals are the same whether in Europe or in Africa - to dictate an evil,embarrassing and ruinous pattern of behaviour which you have little or no control over. They aim at frustrating and finally killing their victims!
The only way to eliminate this spiritual cancer is to run to the Lord Jesus. The bible says in Proverbs 18:10´´The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe´´.
Let us cry to the Lord and pray like these:
