Forgiveness in marriage.

Forgiveness in marriage.

Forgiveness is defined by the Oxford Advanced Learner´s dictionary as ´´the act of forgiving somebody; willingness to forgive somebody´´. I
would like to describe forgiveness as the willingness or act of forgoing or writing off a person´s debt against you. Forgiveness,to a christian is a very powerful spiritual weapon. Even in
the Lord´s Prayer, forgiveness was not left out ´´(Matthew 6:12)And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors´´. Forgiveness of sin to our offenders is very crucial to Godly answers to our prayers. God is often displeased by us if he has forgiven us tonnes and tonnes of sins only to turn around and see us hacking down somebody because of a very minute sin against us. it displeases God so much that he may not be able to help withdrawing his forgiveness of your sin because he would see you as undesireable of his forgiveness.
Appart from the earlier illustration of the disadvantage of unforgiveness, another cricial reason we should forgive is that unforgiveness is a serious danger to human health, especially in the area of blood pressure! Anger raise the blood pressure. Each time you remember somebody that has so offended you - you cannot forgive, you are possessed by this special kind of ´´hyper´´ anger. If you are very vigilant, you would notice that you feel as if your heart is locked with a padlock against that person. You feel like you have a water-dam in your heart and the pressure on your heart is like that of a dammed water against a dam! This is an indication that you are over-working your heart because your heart puts in the same effort that the dam puts in to hold back water from flowing freely. This pressure on your heart is damaging to your heart. If you are not careful you would die of this pressure against your heart and the person you hate so much would live on without even knowing of your plight! Why don´t you consider letting the debts of others go so you could save your life and recieve waiting blessings from God?! Let us not under-estimate the importance of forgiveness to God and to health. We must realize that in marriage there must be agreement before success. Once there are grudges, there is no agreement and such a marriage may end in a fiasco because it is not being conducted according to the will of God! The mind of God on this reads thus.. (Amos 3:3)´´Can two walk together, except they be agreed?´´. (1 Peter 3)´´Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 9Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing´´. When you let Gods love come into your heart, Forgiveness is so easy. What People do to you will not take you where God wants you to be but what you do to people in the word: Jesus was beaten, bruised wounded they even spat on Him He was despised and rejecte - a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God for his own sins!” (Isaiah 53:3–4). The word of God says we are nothing without love. (1 Corinthians 13:2)´´And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing´´.
Listen to what He said ,"Father, forgive them for they know not what they do..´´(Luke 23:43)The most powerful outcome of forgiveness is that it changes and enables us to become more like Christ. ´´O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask your aid" (Psalm 86:5).
He said as He hung dying on the cross.Father forgive them... Have you ever said that? We are the express image of God we should behave like God for we are like Him: Forgiveness brings healing, Blessing, Fellowship and joy. Jesus said. So if you are standing before the altar in the Temple, offering a sacrifice to God, and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you (and treated you badly), leave your sacrifice there beside the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person (give your forgiveness to him or her). Then come and offer your sacrifice to God" (Matthew 5:24-24)
Fogiveness is a choice You can forgive no matter what has happened in your life : You only need to make up your mind to; Say Lord I want to forgive Please Help me to . The power of forgiveness is very strong :It brings healing, Blessings Fellowship and joy above others .Say to yot God Lord I forgive ------fill in a name that comes to your heart--------- . Was it abuse Scandal, heartbreak, deceit, namecalling, rape, disappointments , put-downs, broken promises, harsh words, family or work offenses. When others hurt or abuse us, disrespect or humiliate us, we can forgive them as christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:32 ,Paul writes in Eph 4:31-32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Christ can help us overcome negative thoughts and beliefs which block forgiveness. We can ask Him to soften our hearts and change our minds towards that person, granting us the power to forgive him/her. Phil. 4:8, 13. Thank you Lord for helping me to forgive as you forgive me all my sins too in Jesus name. The simple truth here is that when we don't forgive others, we are denying our common ground as sinners in need of God's forgiveness. We all need to be forgiven at times, and we are all sinners!
The Bible say the two shall become one Gen. 2:24, "For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one
Do you need to forgive your spouse? Does your spouse need to forgive you? Submit to one another through forgiveness and restore the trust and respect that may have been misplaced. Was it abuse Scandal, heartbreak, deceit , namecalling, rape, disappointments , put-downs, broken promises, harsh words, worse still ADULTERY?
For those of you who have had a spouse who committed adultery, the bible says this:
The Pharisee's brought in a woman caught in the act of adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such a woman. Now what do you say?
Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any of you are without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?
"No one sir," she said.
"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin." (John 8:3-11)
Jesus is simply saying that he will forgive us when we have faith enough in him to turn our life around and sin no more.
1 John 1:9 states, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." If we commit adultery, and confess, God will forgive us.
God desires that we forgive each other, even of the most gregarious sin. Peter questioned the Lord on this in Matthew 18:21-22: "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
We should learn to forgive because it is very crucial to our health! The word of God instructs us as follows in: (3 John 1:2)´´Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth´´. God values our health: please, let´s help preserve it. When we hold tenaciously to other people´s debts and cannot forgive, let us remember in a Christ-like manner that we also are not perfect and do owe debt(s) and like to be forgiven.
Remember more to love so that love can be given a chance to undo hate which emanates from unforgiveness. Also bear in mind the bible´s position on love in: (1 Corinthians 13:2)´´And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing´´.
